Ambergris Caye

Ambergris Caye
The town of San Pedro

What's the plan?

Ministry, new friends, sun and sea

In February this year, some friends from our local congregation returned from a 3-month preaching trip in Ambergris Caye. They had many wonderful experiences and spoke so fondly of the brothers and sisters they had met. Their enthusiasm was infectious. When they invited us to join them on their next trip, we happily (and excitedly!) accepted after some careful consideration.

This year has been particularly challenging, and suddenly we find ourselves about to board a plane and travel 36-hours to Ambergris Caye.  A daunting and exciting prospect!

We’re looking forward to many things;
  • meeting our dear brothers and sisters in a remote part of the world
  • dedicating an entire month to spiritual activities without the stress and worry of day-to-day life
  • sharing in a productive ministry and being used by Jehovah to find honest hearted ones who so desperately need him
  • exploring another part of the world and learning about a new culture
  • picking up some Spanish and Belize Kriol
  • spending a lot of time on the beach/in the sea (and avoiding the sharks/salt water crocs!)
  • fishing :)
  • having a golf-cart as our main means of transport!

We’re convinced that this will be a life changing trip and we can’t wait to get started!

  1. We certainly have! Having a fantastic time already. Yesterday morning was a bit of a write off as we arrived on the island at 10:30 am after about 30 hrs of traveling, very little sleep and we're 6 hrs ahead of uk time. It's been our first full day today, we had the meeting this morning, then straight onto a new bible study with a local guy and then after a little lay by the pool we headed out to meet a group of bro's and sisters for a drink and a swim off the pier as the sun set. It's a tough life but someone has to do it!
